An avid reader for as long as she can remember, Amal has perpetually resided in a world of literature. When not found in a research lab or in classes, she can be found holed away reading or writing about swoony MMCs. Amal writes in the romantic contemporary, sci-fi romance, and romantasy genres, with her debut, A Light in the Arcane, being a romantic contemporary. My writing story
As a child, I enjoyed writing short stories, but it was in 2020, a little bit before quarantine started, that I began to write longer stories and slowly form the dream of one day becoming a published author. Then, the depth of COVID really hit, and because of that and a few other things going on at the time, a few mental health problems arose.
What started off as a little hobby soon become a means of reprieve for me. Not matter what was going on in my life, writing stories was a balm I could always come back to. Now, years later, I’m thankfully doing a lot better, but writing has remained a way for me to cope and express myself, and it’s why I chose Amal as my pseudonym—it means “hope” in Arabic
